A trip that was originally planned and booked for 2019 finally got to go head this year (2022) all be it with a couple of hiccups. Like so many trips planned by Clubs all over the country Covid caused the cancellation and re booking of this trip a couple of times. In July however we able set off on a long awaited trip and it was certainly worth the wait. After a one and a half hour delay we finally took off from London Gatwick and headed off to Lanzarote.
This is a trip the club has done a couple of times previously and so we knew what to expect. We had hired some apartments on the front at Playa Chica Bay and booked our diving through Safari Diving. This made some of the easiest diving you could possibly ask for. We’d kit up at the apartment, walk down the beach and straight out into the sea. Over the week the club did various shore based dives and a daily boat dive including Richies Reef, the Underwater Museo Atlántico and the Harbour Wrecks at Puerto Del Carmen.
During the week some members did a couple of night dives to experience the different under water life that comes out in the dark.
The evenings were filled with very enjoyable meals out with the odd drink or two…😊 We also celebrated the Birthday of one of our members as well as their Wedding Anniversary which made it an extra special night.
Sadly the week was over too fast and it was time to return home. Unfortunately due to various delays with baggage handlers and flight cancellations we were nearly 24 hours late getting home, however, we didn’t allow this to tarnish what was a brilliant club trip.
