On a bright but chilly late December day we ran an in house skill development course for some of our current Dive Leader trainees. The Practical Rescue Management (PRM) is part of their training programme which provides them with the skills to manage a diving related incident should one arise.

The course was run by two of our most experienced instructors Arthur and Paul and was attended by 6 trainees. I’m sure all will agree it was both an informative and fun day. Lots of skills were learnt and practiced.

Rope throwing.

Parbuckling. A process for “landing” a casualty when the water is lower than the rescuers, for example at a quayside.

Diver towing and recovery.
The day was nicely rounded off with hot coffee and cakes from our resident Baker Ricardas.
